Data Destruction


Applicable laws and regulations. We understand the importance of security and privacy to a company in today’s marketplace. Therefore, we take every precaution to insure that all data is properly destroyed, and a Certificate of Destruction is provided.

These services adhere to all of the fallowing regulations:

Security


Ocean-Tech has a strong understanding of, and commitment to, the security of client's privileged information. Therefore, we take every precaution to insure that all data is properly and permanently destroyed. We have three levels of data destruction available:

(1) Standard Formatting:


These hard drives are over written using a standard formatting process. There is no urgency or priority applied to these hard drives for secure data destruction.


(2) Data Destruction Service:


All data on any storage device at this level is destroyed to the standards of DOD 5220.22-M method (American Department of Defense Standard 5220-22.M) and in accordance and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

These storage devices are catalogued by serial number.


(3) Physical Storage device & Media Destruction:


Hard drives and media, at this priority level, are destroyed upon delivery to the Ocean-Tech processing facility. These storage units are destroyed using a “degausser”. This process physically deforms the disks internally thereby destroying all data on the drive. Each drive is then ground up and recycled.

Storage devices and/or media are physically destroyed to the standards of DOD 5220.22-M method (American Department of Defense Standard 5220-22.M) and in accordance and in compliance with the following laws and regulations:
